How does an estate sale work?
Once you contact us, we’ll schedule a free consultation to walk through the space, understand your needs, and develop a plan. From there, we handle everything. organizing, staging, pricing, advertising, and running the sale itself. Our goal is to make the process smooth, respectful, and stress-free for you from start to finish.
What do you charge?
We work on a commission basis, meaning our fee comes as a percentage of the total sales. This rate is discussed and agreed upon during our consultation—there are no hidden fees or surprise costs. Every home and situation is a little different, so we make sure the pricing is clear and fair before moving forward.
Do I need to clean or sort first?
No need! In fact, we encourage you not to toss or donate anything before we take a look. You’d be surprised what can sell, from vintage tools to half-used cleaning products. Our team will sort, stage, and prepare everything for sale. You can truly leave it to us.
What happens to unsold items?
We’ll discuss options with you before the sale. Some clients choose donation, consignment, haul-away, or simply keeping select items. We’re happy to help coordinate whatever makes the most sense for your situation.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend reaching out 3–6 weeks before you'd like to have your sale, especially during busy seasons. That said, we do our best to accommodate tighter timelines whenever possible.
How long does the process take?
From consultation to clean-up, most sales take 1–2 weeks of prep, followed by a 1–3 day sale. The exact timeline depends on the size of the home and the volume of items.
Do you advertise the sale?
Yes! We market each sale through multiple channels including estate sale websites, social media, email lists, and local advertising. We also provide professional photography to highlight key items and maximize turnout.
Do I need to be present during the sale?
No. In fact, we usually recommend that clients not be present. It can be emotional and sometimes overwhelming. Our team is fully equipped to manage the sale from start to finish on your behalf.
Can you help with downsizing or moving sales—not just estates?
Absolutely. We help with a wide range of transitions: moving to a smaller home, clearing out storage units, or simply making space. Whatever your situation, we’re here to help you move forward.
